About Lufra Café & Bistro
The Lufra sits on Pirates Bay Drive at Eaglehawk Neck, the narrow isthmus that joins the Tasman Peninsula to the rest of Tasmania. Its bistro, café and bar all look out over Pirates Bay, and in the evening the windows catch the sunset and moonrise over the water. The hotel also has rooms and apartments if you want to stay on the peninsula.
The bistro serves lunch and dinner from a menu built around Tasmanian seafood and regional meats, with a separate kids' menu. The café handles coffee, light snacks and a daily lunch, and the bar is open seven days. Booking ahead is recommended for the bistro, especially in summer.
Eaglehawk Neck is a good base for the coastal sights: the Tessellated Pavement is close by, and the Blowhole, Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen are a short drive. The hotel lists wheelchair access and free on-site parking.
Port Arthur Lavender is about 25 minutes south on the Arthur Highway, so you can spend the morning at the lavender farm and the Port Arthur Historic Site, then come back to the Lufra for dinner by the bay.
