About North 42 Degrees Estate Winery

North 42 Degrees Estate Winery sits on County Road 50 in Colchester, on a 17-acre rain-fed vineyard surrounded by Carolinian forest and cooled by Lake Erie breezes. Owners Martin Gorski and Suzanne Dajczak are third-generation farmers of Polish heritage; Martin tended his grandparents' vines as a boy and later trained in winemaking. Their group also includes Serenity Lavender Farm next door and a grain farm.

The main way to taste is a tutored, seated tasting with vineyard views: about 30 to 35 minutes, four wines of your choice, $15 per person in 2026. A charcuterie board for four, with pickles from the bistro garden and house preserves, can be pre-ordered for $45. Wines include a sparkling rosé brut and a Cabernet Sauvignon rosé, all from estate-grown grapes. Winery tours are paused until further notice.

Bistro 42 cooks with local produce and serves lunch daily from 11 am to 4 pm and dinner Monday and Thursday to Sunday from 5 to 8 pm, with fall and winter menus posted for 2026. Bottles are for sale all day.

Because Serenity Lavender Farm is right next door, this is the easiest lavender-and-wine pairing in Essex County: see the lavender in late June or July, then walk over for a tasting and lunch.
