About Jungle Java
Jungle Java is an indoor playground on North Canton Center Road built around a jungle theme, with climbing structures for children and a café where parents can sit with coffee, a snack or a laptop on the wifi. It is a rainy-day option for families traveling between Detroit and the farm country west of Ann Arbor, and it has nothing to do with farming beyond giving young kids a place to burn off energy.
The playground is open every day, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Some evenings it switches to Jungle@Night with LED lighting. Day admission is listed at $12 for children 2 and older, $8 for toddlers 12 to 23 months, and free for babies under a year, with three-month passes for regular visitors. Socks are required, and they are sold on site if you forget.
The space books themed birthday parties with food, cake and decorations, plus private evening parties from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. On weekdays it hosts groups such as preschools, scout troops, parent groups and summer camps, and it runs fundraiser nights.
Lavender Lane Farm in Milan is about 21 miles southwest. On a wet summer day, an hour here can fill the gap until the weather clears for lavender cutting.
