About Sheridan Vineyard

Sheridan Vineyard is a winery on Roza Drive outside Zillah in the Yakima Valley, and its tasting room is at the vineyard. Owner and winemaker Scott Greer came to wine without formal training. A 1994 Napa Cabernet he opened to celebrate finishing his house got him curious, and after many trips to Napa to talk with winemakers, he first saw this land on a snowy December day in 1996. It was 76 acres for sale, grown over with old Concord vines and apple trees. He cleared it and planted his first vines within a few months.

The tasting room is open Thursday through Saturday, and other days by appointment; their website does not list set times, so email or call before you drive out. Groups of more than eight should book at least 24 hours ahead, and groups of 15 or more at least 72 hours ahead.

Sheridan is an easy stop for families. The winery says children are always welcome, and leashed pets can join you for tastings outdoors. Scott Greer runs the winery as owner and winemaker, and Jenny manages the tasting room; appointments and group visits are arranged by email with the tasting room.

The closest lavender listing, Lavender Boutique in Quincy, is about two hours north and sells its culinary lavender and body care through its online shop rather than a farm visit, so plan Sheridan as part of a Yakima Valley wine day instead.
