About Vignoble du Chemin de la Rivière
This small vineyard on Magog's chemin de la Rivière has been run since 2003 by a family with two generations of French and Quebec roots. The vines sit near the Magog River, between Lac Memphrémagog and Petit lac Magog, with the Appalachian hills behind them.
The cellar makes a short range: white, red, rosé and sparkling wines, a fortified wine aged in oak casks, a late-harvest wine and an ice-style aperitif white. Tastings are offered on site, and the regional tourism office lists a picnic area and parking, so you can bring lunch and stay a while.
From May to October the tasting room opens Wednesday to Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In November and December it opens Friday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and from January to April visits are by appointment. The site is listed as accessible to people with reduced mobility, and cards and cash are both accepted. Group and corporate visits can be arranged.
Le Cep d'Argent is a little farther along the same road, and Bleu Lavande is about 10 minutes away in Magog, so this stop fits easily into a day of lavender and local wine.
