About Bluewater Lavender Farm

Bluewater Lavender Farm is a family-owned farm at the base of the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula in Wiarton, growing five varieties of English and French lavender in an environmentally friendly way. The English varieties, in dark purple, pink and white, flower first, and the lighter purple French varieties follow. Everything in the shop is handmade in small batches, and the farm won a local Business Excellence Award in Agriculture in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The farm opens to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from June through August, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with farm tours on those days. Plants are usually in bloom from late June to the middle of August, depending on the weather. Plan on about an hour to explore the fields. Dogs are welcome as long as owners pick up after them. Handheld cameras are fine during public hours, and professional photo sessions need a permit booked through their website.

The farm runs the Wiarton Lavender Festival on the last weekend of July, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days, at Bluewater Park on Colpoys Bay. Entry is free with a non-perishable donation for the food bank. There are more than 40 vendors, food and drinks, live music at 11 and 1, and yoga in the lavender field at 10 a.m., booked ahead for $30. Outside the summer, the products are sold at the farm's shop on Berford Street in downtown Wiarton and online.

The Green Door Cafe is also in Wiarton, a few minutes away, for lunch before or after the fields.
