About Georgian Hills Vineyards

Georgian Hills Vineyards is a small, locally owned winery in the Beaver Valley, about 20 minutes northwest of Collingwood, and one of the early producers in the Georgian Bay wine region. It makes sparkling, white, red, rosé and sweet dessert wines under its own label and the Notty Bay and Wild & Inspired lines, and it pours Ardiel Cider House ciders pressed from apples and pears the Ardiel family has grown in the valley for more than 100 years.

In summer the winery is open daily from 11 to 5; starting October 19 it closes Monday to Wednesday, so check before a late-fall visit. You can reserve table service under the pavilion or at the picnic tables. Wine Wednesdays bring live music from 5 to 8, and on Fridays in July and August a dinner series from 5 to 8 serves a set menu paired with the wines and ciders as the sun goes down over the valley.

Other outings include Walk & Wine with the Alpacas, an autumn wine bar, bachelorette packages and group bookings, and the winery hosts weddings. Gift certificates and free next-day local delivery are available.

The Purple Hollow near Meaford is about 20 minutes northwest, so a summer lavender visit and a pavilion lunch fit into one Beaver Valley day.
