About The Creemore Hills Winery
The Creemore Hills Winery began in 2007, when co-founders Catherine Morrissey and Stephen Loewy bought a 49-acre farm a short drive north of the village of Creemore and planted a vineyard. The winery works with David Eiberg as its wine master and makes small batches from both cold-hardy grapes that suit the Creemore hills and classic varieties.
The current list leans on grapes bred for cold winters: an Estate Rosé made entirely from Marquette, a varietal Marquette, a Swenson white and a Frontenac Blanc. Field blends of Marquette, St. Croix and Frontenac (red) and La Crescent with Frontenac Gris (white) sit alongside Chardonnay, Riesling, a Gamay rosé, a Meritage and a pét-nat. The Estate Rosé also comes in a half bottle.
Visits are by appointment only, Wednesday through Sunday from 11:30 am to 6 pm, for a wine tasting or a winery tour. Book by calling or texting the number on their website or by email. The tasting room looks out over the farmland north of the village, and the winery does not list food service, so plan lunch in Creemore.
Purple Hill Lavender Farm is only a few minutes away on the edge of Creemore. In July, book a lavender visit and a tasting on the same afternoon, then finish in the village for dinner.
