About Castle Farm Midford
Castle Farm is a small kitchen set up in an old tractor shed on an organic farm in the hills of the Midford Valley, just south of Bath. It sits beside its own garden, which changes with the seasons and shapes what goes on the menu, and the dining room looks out over it. The kitchen is led by chef Pravin Nayar and a small team.
During the week it is a relaxed place for breakfast, coffee and lunch, served Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 3pm with no need to book, along with fresh baking and homemade cakes. Sunday is roast day, served family style with dishes placed in the middle of the table to share. Curry nights bring Malaysian and South Indian flavors to the table, and about once a month a supper club builds a whole evening around a single idea, ingredient, cuisine or season.
Besides the restaurant there is a deli and a takeaway, and people come for birthdays, weddings and long lunches as well as everyday meals. Sunday roasts, curry nights and supper clubs must be booked, with online bookings for groups of up to eight and larger parties arranged through the events page. Children and families are welcome, dogs on leads are allowed when space and the occasion permit, and parking on site is free.
Somerset Lavender at Faulkland is about 4 miles to the southwest, roughly 15 minutes through the lanes, so a weekday lunch here pairs well with a summer afternoon among the lavender.
