About Crossing Vineyards & Winery
Crossing Vineyards sits on a 200-year-old estate less than a mile from the spot where George Washington crossed the Delaware in 1776. Tom Carroll Jr. started the winery with his parents, Tom Sr. and Christine, in 2000, and the first vintage came out in 2002. It has been voted among the best in Bucks County for many years running.
The tasting room is open daily from noon to 6 and until 9 on Thursdays, and closes on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day and Easter Sunday. A Classic Wine Tasting of 10 wines is $20 a person for up to six people. Groups of 7 to 18 can book a Group Tasting at $30 each, and weekday tastings with lunch ($65) or weekend Celebration tastings ($70) add sandwiches, salad and chocolate truffles; book those 48 hours ahead. Non-drinkers can join a group tasting free.
The kitchen serves cheese and charcuterie boards, flatbreads, soft pretzels, wraps and salads, and no outside food or drinks of any kind are allowed, except at the summer music series, when you can bring a picnic and chairs. Leashed dogs are welcome on the outside grounds only. Children may come with a parent but can't go into the vines, and the winery doesn't recommend bringing them to tastings; kids 12 and under get into the summer music series free.
The nearest lavender farms on our list, Quiet Hills near Palmerton and Mt Airy Lavender near Coatesville, are each well over an hour away, so this works best as its own Delaware River day.
