About Duck Pond Cellars
Duck Pond Cellars has poured Oregon Pinot Noir on Highway 99W in Dundee since 1993, about twenty minutes from McMinnville. Winemaker Julia Cattrall is a fifth-generation Oregon grower whose family has farmed the Cattrall Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills for more than a century; she favors sustainable, low-intervention winemaking. The tasting room also pours wines from The Great Oregon Wine Company and Ransom, plus Ransom Spirits gins, whiskies, vodka, grappa and vermouths.
The room is open Thursday through Monday from 11 am to 5 pm, with Tuesday and Wednesday visits by appointment. A wine tasting or a spirits tasting is $20 per person and runs 60 to 90 minutes, and a zero-proof mocktail flight is $15. The Guided Tasting & Tour ($65, Friday through Sunday) adds library wines, a small snack and a seasonal walk through the vineyard or winery. Reservations are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.
Picnics are welcome on the patio and lawn, which the winery treats as a front yard for guests, and boards and snacks are sold too, from truffle popcorn to an Oregon board. Leashed dogs may come along outside. Fall brings a September food-pairing add-on and an October rosé flight that supports a breast cancer charity, and from October 2026 there is free bingo on second Fridays, 6 to 8 pm. Designated drivers get a free non-alcoholic flight or mocktail when they tell staff on arrival.
Thistle & Bloom, the organic lavender farm on Ladd Hill near Wilsonville, is about 25 minutes east, so a July day can combine U-cut lavender with a picnic and tasting here.
