About Sokol Blosser Winery
Susan Sokol and Bill Blosser planted their first vines in the Dundee Hills in 1971, which makes Sokol Blosser one of the early families of Oregon wine. The winery focuses on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, along with a sparkling rosé made from Pinot Noir, and it holds B Corp, Salmon-Safe and LEED certifications. One of its rooms, the John Storrs Tasting Room built in 1978, is described by the winery as the first purpose-built tasting room in Oregon.
The main Estate Tasting is a guided, 75-minute flight that starts at $40 for four wines, with the fee waived when you buy two bottles. The main room has floor-to-ceiling windows over the vines and the Willamette Valley, and guests may also be seated on the Front Porch, the Vineyard Landing or, on weekends in good weather, the Viewpoint Terrace. The winery is open daily from March through October and Thursday through Monday from November through February, 10 am to 4 pm.
Food is served at the table: book a tasting, then order seasonal small plates paired with the pours (the fall 2026 menu is posted on their website). The downstairs Wine Bar pours older vintages and by-the-glass wines with small bites Friday through Sunday, 11 am to 5 pm, first come first served, with a Friday happy hour from 5 to 7. The Farm & Forage Table in the Library is a longer food and wine pairing. Children are welcome with adults and can order food and non-alcoholic drinks, and leashed dogs may join you outdoors.
Thistle & Bloom, the organic lavender farm on Ladd Hill near Wilsonville, is about 30 minutes east through Newberg, so a July day can combine U-cut lavender with an afternoon tasting here.
