About Harbor View Cafe
Harbor View Cafe has been cooking on First Street in Pepin, by the village marina, since 1980. The dining room looks out on Lake Pepin, the wide stretch of the Mississippi between Wisconsin and Minnesota, a few steps from the Great River Road.
The kitchen makes nearly everything in house: soups, sauces, dressings, breads and desserts, with local ingredients where it can get them. The menu is written on a chalkboard and shifts a little each day depending on what vendors bring in, with seafood, local meats and vegetarian dishes, a good number of gluten-free entrées and a rotating vegetarian soup. Save room for pie or cake. Wine and cocktails are served, and the day's menu is posted on their social pages.
There are no reservations; tables go first come, first served, so plan to put your name in and walk the marina or the village while you wait. The cafe takes cash, checks and cards, including tap-to-pay. Hours change with the season: in fall 2026 it is open Thursday 3–7, Friday 3–8, and Saturday and Sunday from noon, closed Monday through Wednesday.
Lavender Bluff Farm is about 10 minutes up the Great River Road in Stockholm, so a lavender visit and an early dinner at the cafe fit neatly into one summer afternoon.
