About Scandihoo

Scandihoo is a Nordic design shop in Stockholm, the Pepin County village on the Great River Road that Swedish settlers founded. The shop gathers Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Danish and Icelandic designs with the idea of making home feel cozy in the Scandinavian hygge sense.

The shelves lean toward the home: wool blankets, pillows, table linens, rugs and seat covers, plus candles, candleholders, mobiles, lighting and felted flowers. There are modern cuckoo clocks, including ones made for kids' rooms, along with kitchen and pantry goods, bath and body products, sauna hats and skincare. Clothing, outerwear and jewelry fill another corner, and a men's line called ScandiMan carries Viking-themed and grooming goods.

Families will find kids' games, puzzles and books, and the store stocks cards, journals and stationery. In the holiday season it adds ornaments, gnomes and seasonal decor, which makes it a good stop for gift shopping on a late-fall drive along the river. Orders placed on the shop's website can be picked up in the store.

Lavender Bluff Farm is in the same small village, just a few minutes away, so Scandihoo fits easily into a day of browsing Stockholm's shops and walking the lavender rows.
