About Haute Goat Farm
Haute Goat Farm covers 200 acres on 5th Line north of Newtonville, in the Port Hope area. Debbie and Shain started it as a small hobby farm, and their artisan goat milk chocolates, soaps and skincare helped pay for a growing herd. The animals are now the reason to come: Nigerian Dwarf goats, Huacaya alpacas, Kune Kune pigs, Babydoll sheep, Icelandic horses, exotic chickens and a mule named Lucy Mae Belle, all watched over by Tornjak livestock guardian dogs.
The farm is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and walking the trails and seeing the animals during open hours is free. Hands-on sessions are booked ahead online, or on site when space allows. Options include a guided goat walk through the fields, the one-hour Toodle Tour with very little walking, a relaxed 30-minute goat session designed for all ages and abilities, an alpaca walk for ages 16 and up, goat yoga, and a workshop where you make fresh mozzarella to take home. Baby goat sessions run in summer only. The 18-hole disc golf course is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. all year, and overnight stays are offered year-round.
The Screaming Goat Café serves lunch, pizza, snacks and coffee, plus craft beer, cider and wine, with indoor and outdoor seating that looks over the farm. It closes at 3:30 p.m. The shop carries handmade goat milk products. In 2026 the free Ghouly Goat Spooktacular runs October 24, 25 and 31 from noon to 3 p.m., with crafts, games, a scavenger hunt and timed alpaca photo sessions.
Laveanne, the lavender farm in Campbellcroft, is about 15 minutes north by car. In summer, spend the morning with the goats and the afternoon among the lavender rows.
