About Christel Lake Lavender

Christel Lake Lavender is a family farm run by hosts Christel and Gert on Scugog Line 12, just north of the village of Greenbank and about a kilometer east of Highway 12. It sits between Uxbridge and Port Perry, roughly 30 km north of Whitby. The farm grows many varieties of lavender, and the rows wrap around a spring-fed lake that visitors are free to walk.

The 2026 season has finished, and the farm says it will reopen on May 24, 2027, with visit bookings opening on their website in early May. In past seasons it has opened Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holiday Mondays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Because hours can change, the farm asks visitors to call ahead.

This is an easy stop for families. Children have a 50-foot play set, swings and a trampoline, and dogs are welcome. The gift shop sells hand-crafted lavender goods for the home, for bath and beauty, and for cooking, along with books about lavender. The farm also hosts family photography sessions among the plants.

Port Perry's lakefront downtown on Lake Scugog is about 10 minutes south-east, and Uxbridge is a similar drive west, so the farm fits well into a summer drive through the Durham Region countryside.
