About The Giving Place
The Giving Place is a family-run, pesticide-free farm on about 8.5 acres in Mount Albert, in East Gwillimbury. Over 3,400 English and French lavender plants were planted by hand, and the land also holds forest, beehives, wildflower fields, a pond, chicken coops, a small animal rescue and The Giving Garden Haven, a not-for-profit community garden. Entry fees go to the rescue animals, the community garden and partner food banks.
The farm runs from mid to late May until mid to late October, and peak bloom is usually late June through mid to late July, with some varieties flowering into August. For now the farm is open for special events only, so check the events calendar on their website before you go. When regular visits run, entry is $10 per person, and it is included in event and workshop tickets.
Events change through the year: workshops, high teas, a small summer lavender festival, A Night of 1000 Candles, weddings and custom group experiences. In 2026 the Winter Farm Store opens for in-store shopping on November 21, with more dates into mid-December, plus wreath workshops on November 25 and 26 and December 5. The shop sells small-batch lavender goods such as essential oil, body serum and balm, wax melts, honey, lavender honey lollipops, a lavender coffee blend and dried bouquets cut at peak bloom.
Brooks Farms is also in Mount Albert, a few minutes away, for a second family farm stop.
