About Journeyman Distillery

Journeyman Distillery fills the Featherbone Factory in Three Oaks, a refurbished 1800s factory that once made featherbone corsets. It is one of a small number of distilleries in the country certified both organic and kosher, and it makes its spirits from Midwest grain and water drawn from an underground aquifer. The lineup covers whiskey and bourbon, gin, liqueurs, ready-to-drink cocktails and a zero-proof gin.

Two tours walk through the production floor and the grain-to-glass process, the company's history and the old factory, then end in the tasting room. The 60-minute Distillery Tour includes 13 spirit tastings for $15; the 90-minute Distiller's Tour adds three barrel tastings for $35. Each tour holds about 12 to 15 people, so booking online is recommended, though walk-ins can join if there's room. Check in at the Staymaker host stand 10 minutes early. Tasters must be 21 with a valid ID, and children may come on tours if they stay within arm's reach.

Staymaker, the on-site restaurant, is a family-friendly 165-seat dining room open 362 days a year, with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan choices, a kids' menu and weekend brunch from 10 AM. Outside, the Welter's Folly putting green covers about 30,000 square feet with 18 holes; it opened in April for 2026 and costs $9 with a souvenir ball, free for kids 12 and under. Lodging and event spaces round out the campus.

Lavender Bliss Flower Farm in Bridgman is about 20 minutes north. In summer, cut lavender there in the morning and come back for a tour and lunch.
