About Dablon Vineyards & Winery

Dablon Vineyards & Winery grows its grapes on a 75-acre estate in Baroda, about five miles inland from Lake Michigan in the Lake Michigan Shore wine region. Roughly 45 acres are planted, many of them in terraced blocks edged with stone walls on glacial hills. The first four acres went in by hand in 2009, starting with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and the winery now works with European grape varieties that are unusual in Michigan, including Malbec and Petit Verdot. The name honors Claude Dablon, a 17th-century French Jesuit who was among the first Europeans in Michigan.

The tasting room is open every day, with a patio that looks out over the vines. Seating and tastings are first come, first served for groups of eight or fewer. On Saturdays at 11 a.m. from June through October, a tour walks through the vineyard, the production area and the barrel room before ending with a guided tasting; in 2026 it cost $50 per person, including a $10 credit toward a bottle bought that day. Private tastings in the barrel room can be arranged year-round.

Small bites are sold on site, and outside food is not allowed. The estate is for adults only: no one under 21, including infants, and only trained service dogs. Sunday afternoons in fall bring live music from 3 to 5 p.m., and the 2026 Harvest Party on October 3 added hayrides through the vineyard.

Lavender Bliss Flower Farm in Bridgman is about 15 minutes west. In June and July, cut lavender there in the morning and come to Dablon for an afternoon on the patio.
