About The Kintner House

The Kintner House is a boutique inn on Capitol Avenue in the center of Corydon, the town that served as Indiana's first state capital. The building went up in 1873 as a hotel, later served as an office building, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It now takes overnight guests again, with a fine art collection hung throughout the halls.

Each guest room is individually designed, so the size, layout, windows and furnishings differ from one to the next, and the inn suggests looking over the room photos before booking. Every room has its own private bathroom, along with Wi-Fi, a smart TV, linens and towels, and limited housekeeping. Guests get complimentary bottled water and concierge help with local plans, and the inn has meeting space for small groups. On select dates the whole building can be rented for a family gathering or retreat.

The location is the main draw. Downtown restaurants, coffee, ice cream, shops and historic landmarks are all within a short walk, so you can park once and spend the evening on foot. Rooms are booked online through their website.

Lavender Creek Farm is about 5 miles east, roughly 12 minutes by car, which makes the inn a convenient base for a summer farm visit and a night in town.
