About La Seigneurie de l'Île d'Orléans
La Seigneurie de l'Île d'Orléans is an estate on chemin Royal in Saint-François, at the eastern end of Île d'Orléans. Its lavender field covers four hectares with 75,000 plants of true lavender set out on diagonals, so the rows ripple like water in the river wind. The field is edged with 500 yellow elderberry shrubs and 500 cedars, and Victorian benches look out over the St. Lawrence, Mont Sainte-Anne and the Saint-François church steeple.
The lavender fields open only for about two weeks at bloom. In 2026 they were open July 11 to 24, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Lavender at Dusk evenings until 9 p.m. on six July dates. Tickets are sold at the boutique, and combo tickets cover both the lavender and the gardens.
The estate's Great Gardens are open June 24 to August 31, daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with last entry at 4 p.m. They include an alley of 40 crabapple trees with statues, a stone arch bridge, medieval-style towers, the remains of a sawmill, water features and a 70-foot waterfall. The Hildegard boutique, open the same summer hours, sells handmade lavender care products such as lip balms and creams. After August 31 visits are by appointment.
Fromagerie Ferme Audet, also in Saint-François, is about 10 minutes away for island cheese.
