About Main Street Inn
Main Street Inn occupies part of the Lee Block on Lowell's Main Street, a row of storefronts that J.E. Lee built in 1877 and rebuilt after fires in 1884 and 1906. Over the next century the spaces held a meat market, barbers, a saloon, jewelers and offices. By 2009 the buildings had been condemned because their foundations were failing along the river; Greg Canfield bought them, repaired the foundations and seawall, and renovated them as an inn in 2010.
The inn has seven rooms, including a honeymoon suite, and its tagline is simple elegance on the river: rooms are large, with big bathrooms, and look out over the Flat River. Wireless internet is included, and staff are on site from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is open year-round and suits a one-night getaway or a longer stay.
From the front door you are in downtown Lowell, steps from riverside dining at Flat River Grill and the shops along Main Street. The orchards north of town, including The Orchards at Red Barn, are a short drive away for fall picking.
