About Hotel Rose
Hotel Rose opened on September 26, 2025, and sold out its first weekend. Wheeler Development Group began planning it with the city in 2018, bought the lot in 2024 and built the three-story hotel in about 15 months. It takes up a city block on Main Street near Bridge Street, a short walk from the riverfront shops.
There are 54 rooms and suites, from double-queen rooms and adjoining rooms to king suites and business suites, plus an ADA-accessible double-queen room. Parking is free, and the hotel has secure on-site bike storage and a guest marketplace off the lobby lounge.
Char + Barrel, the hotel's chef-driven restaurant, is built around steaks and bourbon and takes reservations; its menu was updated in October 2026. The hotel sells packages too, including a White Pine Trail package from $189 a night plus taxes and fees, with trail snacks, a water bottle and bike storage, and bike rentals through a local partner. A romance package pairs a room with dinner at Char + Barrel.
Great Lakes Lavender Farm is about 15 minutes away; it isn't open for farm visits, but Hotel Rose makes a comfortable base for a fall orchard weekend on the Fruit Ridge and in the Rockford area.
