About Cedar Springs Brewing Company

Cedar Springs Brewing Company brings a Bavarian beer hall to Main Street in Cedar Springs, about 18 minutes north of Grand Rapids. The brewery focuses on traditional German and European beer styles, and its Küsterer Bier line is named for Christoph Küsterer, described as the first German brewer in West Michigan. A rotating Brauhaus Series adds limited releases, and the bar also pours wine, cider and sangria.

The kitchen serves Upper Bavarian dishes alongside American smokehouse food, with a $10 lunch menu and a kids menu. Ordering is counter-service in the bier hall style, and there is takeout and curbside pickup as well. Inside there are about 150 seats plus a 36-seat Bavarian Room, and the biergarten outside holds about 70 under shade trees when the weather allows.

The biergarten backs right up to the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail State Park, and the brewery describes itself as a stop for people hiking, biking and snowmobiling the trail. In summer, Thursday nights are Jeep Nights. The brewery takes bookings for private parties, and on New Year's Eve it holds a German toast at 6 p.m. and stays open until midnight.

Great Lakes Lavender Farm in Rockford is about 15 minutes to the southeast. The farm is not open for visits, but online orders can be picked up there on Wednesdays and Fridays, which makes a lavender pickup and a biergarten lunch an easy pairing.
