About Sandhill Crane Bed and Breakfast

Sandhill Crane Bed and Breakfast is an adobe hacienda on two acres at the edge of the bosque in the village of Corrales, run by innkeepers Judith and George Newby. The house has brick floors, timbered ceilings and a great room with a kiva fireplace and tall windows facing the mountains, and the grounds are shaded by cottonwoods and pines. From the portal you can watch the sun set on the Sandia Mountains.

There are two guest spaces. The Meadow Room has a large dressing room and bath and its own patio over the courtyard. The Bosque Suite sleeps up to four, with a queen bedroom, a living room and kitchenette, local art and a hand-painted petroglyph mural; it can also be booked as a single room. All rooms have queen beds, private baths, robes and free Wi-Fi.

A full multi-course hot breakfast is served each morning, except during Balloon Fiesta, and the inn can handle vegan, diabetic and other diets with notice. October is high season because of the balloon fiesta; the inn lists October 2 to 13, 2026 as its peak dates, with different cancellation terms.

Corrales sits just north of Los Ranchos, so Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm is about 20 minutes south along the river. Spend a morning in the Los Poblanos lavender fields and farm shop, then come back to the quiet of the bosque.
