About Stateline Blueberries

Stateline Blueberries is a family blueberry farm just south of the Michigan line outside Michigan City. The farm has been welcoming pickers for 28 years and grows twelve blueberry varieties that ripen one after another, which lets it stay open longer than a farm with only a few types. Big Duke berries are a favorite with pickers, and the family added more in 2023; 1,400 Chanticleer bushes went in during 2020, and a planting of 700 Draper bushes is still maturing. Dean and Owen have been adding drip irrigation to the rows.

Picking normally runs through July and August, every day from 7 am to 6 pm Central time. The 2026 season was a short one and has already ended, so the next chance is summer 2027. The farm's update page on its website is the best place to check picking conditions before you go.

Besides berries, the farm sells raw honey, blueberry barbecue sauce and other treats, and there is a picnic area. There is no charge to get in or park. Cash, checks and cards are taken, with a $10 minimum and a 3% fee on cards.

Lakeside Lavender and Herbs is in the La Porte area, about 25 minutes away, so a summer day can include both blueberries and lavender.
