About Tony's Sub Shop
Tony's Sub Shop has been feeding Walla Walla since 1979 from a converted mid-century gas station on East Isaacs Avenue. It is a family shop built around made-to-order subs, daily soups and chili, and the long party subs that show up at local gatherings. In 2026 readers of the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin voted it the area's best fast food restaurant.
Half subs ran $8.50 to $10 and full subs $15 to $18 on the 2026 menu. A soup-and-half pairs a half sub with a cup of soup or chili, and soups come in three sizes with varieties that change daily. There is also a haystack salad, cookies and espresso drinks such as lattes and mochas. On cold days the Cold Snap Special bumps a small soup up to a medium with any sub.
For groups, party subs come in a four-foot size that serves about 20 and a six-foot size that serves about 30. Party subs can be delivered for a fee with 24 hours' notice; everything else is pickup. You can order ahead online or by phone, and online orders earn rewards points.
Blue Mountain Lavender Farm in Lowden is about 20 minutes west along the highway. In summer, pick up subs at Tony's, then head out to stroll the lavender rows and browse the farm's boutique during its season.
