About Woldies
Woldies is a family-run day out at Wintringham, half a mile off the A64 near Malton, run by Danny, Sarah and their team. Lavender is the thread running through it: the gardens and fields are grown on site, and the oil in every product in the shop is grown and distilled there too.
The lavender usually starts flowering in mid-June and carries on through July into August, with the sheltered inner gardens coming out before the more exposed field. Harvest and distilling happen in late August, and by September everything has been cut. In 2026 Woldies opened from 28 March to 6 September, weekends and bank holidays in spring and daily from 1 July. Hours run 10am to 4pm in April and May and 10am to 5pm from June to September, with last entry 90 minutes before closing. It is now closed until Easter 2027.
Children have plenty to do: a miniature railway, two giant mazes, foot golf, water and sand play, dens and play zones, plus nature gardens, wildlife walks and an observation beehive. The Teahive Takeaway sells sandwiches, pasties, cakes and ice cream, and picnics are welcome at the many benches. The farm suggests allowing at least three hours. In 2026 adult tickets were £12.70 online or £14.95 at the gate.
Paddock House Fruit Farm at Rillington is about 10 minutes west along the A64.
