Yarker is a small village on the Napanee River north of Highway 401, halfway between Napanee and Kingston. Country roads link it to the Wilton Cheese Factory, operating since 1867, and to MacKinnon Brothers, a brewery in renovated century-old barns on a family farm settled in 1784. To the west, Napanee has a waterfall in Springside Park and the county museum; to the southeast, Kingston has two national historic sites and the southern end of the Rideau Canal.
