✏️ Report outdated info

The flat dairy country between Ottawa and the Quebec border mixes Franco-Ontarian villages in Prescott-Russell with the Scottish settlements of Glengarry County. St-Albert has made cheddar and fresh curds since 1894, Maxville hosts the North American Pipe Band Championships at its Highland Games each summer, and the St. Lawrence shore to the south has protected marshes, a beach park and boardwalks.

Lavande Braydale in Moose Creek is the main lavender stop: its fields usually bloom from late June to early August, it added a two-acre sunflower field for 2026, and its self-serve barn store stays open daily until Christmas. Les Jardins Écologistes Grégoire near St-Albert also opens seasonally. Plan a July visit to catch the bloom and the Glengarry Highland Games, or come in fall for pumpkins and apples at the farms closer to Ottawa.
