About Vergers Villeneuve

Vergers Villeneuve is a 40-acre fruit farm on Rollin Road in Clarence-Rockland, run by Michel Villeneuve and Carrie McKay. The family's roots on the land go back more than 175 years, and the wine boutique sits in the 170-year-old Villeneuve family home. They began making wine in 2017 and now produce more than 15 fruit wines from their own fruit and from neighboring farms.

Picking starts in July with Canada Red rhubarb, five kinds of blueberries including the large Patriot, thornless AC Eden raspberries and semi-sour cherries such as Carmine Jewel. From mid-August the orchard moves to pears, including the small, spicy Golden Spice, and 18 apple varieties, with Honeycrisp and Spartan the favorites. Picking for 2026 has now ended; dates shift a little each year.

On fall weekends the wine and sangria bar is open 11 am to 5 pm, rain or shine, through October 24 in 2026, pouring glasses and four-glass flights alongside meat and cheese plates, sparkling haskap or blueberry juice for non-drinkers, and gelato. Visitors must be 19 or older to taste. Hosted afternoons such as Sangria & Gourmet and Wine & Cheese are booked by email, and cut-your-own Christmas trees open November 21.

Lavenbel in Orléans is about 13 miles west, roughly 25 minutes, but it sells its organic lavender goods at local markets rather than keeping regular visiting hours, so check before planning a stop.
