About Domaine Perrault

Domaine Perrault grew out of a dairy farm in Navan, east of Ottawa. Denis Perrault planted his first acre of vines in 1999, about ten hybrid varieties chosen with help from a University of Guelph grape specialist, and added five more acres in 2005. Denis, his wife Lyse and their two daughters still run the winery, and winemaker Graham Fish has led the cellar since the fall of 2020. The vineyard yields about 20,000 bottles a year, made dry and with a light hand so each vintage shows its own character.

The winery is open Friday through Sunday and now pours indoors all year. Tastings come as three packages of five 2-ounce pours: a basic flight, one with fresh bread and three cheeses, and a Sommelier Select version that adds charcuterie, a vineyard tour and a barrel tasting. In winter the tastings move into the indoor tasting room with a cheese board. Bookings are made by email or text.

Summer brings a busy calendar; in 2025 it included outdoor yoga, live music, a floral workshop and a wine bottle painting brunch. The farm is also a wedding venue and closes to the public on some Saturdays for weddings, so check the date before driving out. A holiday market is advertised for the end of the year.

Lavenbel in Orléans is about 15 minutes northwest, so a summer Saturday can start among the lavender and end with a tasting on the Perrault farm.
