About Les Jardins Écologistes Grégoire

Les Jardins Écologistes Grégoire is a fifth-generation family farm on Route 700 near St-Albert, east of Ottawa in the Nation municipality. Aurèle Grégoire bought the land in 1958 after his father Osias told him the soil was good; his son Gaëtan and grandson Ghislain run it today. Besides wide lavender fields and Russian sage, the family grows medicinal plants and raises organic beef and lamb in an ecological setting.

The farm opens to visitors seasonally, Thursday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission posted on their website is $12 for adults 18 to 64, $8 for ages 6 to 17 and for seniors 65 and up, and free for children 5 and under. Groups of 10 or more should contact the farm to set a date.

Visitors walk the lavender rows and the other flower gardens and take photos among the blooms. The family makes essential oils, soaps and other natural products from its own lavender, and the shop also sells pre-picked bouquets. In summer there is lavender lemonade ice cream; you can pre-order a lunch box by phone or bring your own snacks.

The St-Albert Cheese Co-op is a few minutes away in the village, and it makes an easy second stop for fresh cheese curds.
