About Countryside Adventures
Countryside Adventures is a family-owned outdoor destination on Sixth Road in Moose Creek, about 30 minutes from Cornwall and 45 minutes from Ottawa. It opened in 2017 on wooded land with a 4.5-acre private pond, and it now runs through every season.
Winter is its busiest time. A 3 km skating trail winds through mature forest, sheltered from the wind, with fresh ice made each morning, and you can skate as many laps as you like. There's also a 3 km snowshoe trail, a tubing hill, a bonfire, skate and snowshoe rentals, and two party cabins that can be rented in four-hour blocks for birthdays and teams. A food truck serves poutine, hot chocolate and maple taffy.
In spring, the family's sugar shack, started in 2023, boils sap from about 4,000 taps over a wood-fired evaporator and sells maple syrup, maple butter, maple sugar and taffy. In summer, the pond becomes the draw: swimming from a sandy beach, kayaks, paddleboards and pedal boats, and catch-and-release fishing for rainbow trout, walleye, perch and bluegill with no license needed. Off-grid cabins by the pond can be rented for overnight stays. There's a petting zoo on site, and strollers, wheelchairs and leashed dogs are welcome.
Lavande Braydale Lavender is also in Moose Creek, about 10 minutes away, so a July day can mix a lavender field visit with an afternoon swim at the pond.
