About Blooms & Berries Farm Market
Blooms & Berries began in the spring of 1999, when Cathy and David Probst moved back to the family farm on State Route 48 and planted 5,000 strawberry plants with a 1957 tractor. Their son Jeff, known on the farm's texts as Farmer Jeff, worked the roadside produce stands through college and came home in 2006 to grow the farm into a family destination with Cathy; his wife Emily joined full time in 2021.
Strawberries are still the first big event of the year, in spring, with picking dates announced by text a day or so ahead. In 2026 a field pass was $3 per person age 2 and up, bought online in advance, and berries were $5.49 a pound. Sugar snap peas, blueberries and blackberries follow, plus U-dig potatoes, and a spring tulip trail and a play yard with a petting farm open from May.
Fall on the Farm runs daily from September 19 through November 1, 2026, 9 to 7, with timed tickets bought online; children under 2 are free. Admission covers hayrides, a 5-acre corn maze and kids' maze, a 40-animal petting farm, a pumpkin bounce pad, a trike track and a low ropes course. Pumpkins are sold by the pound. The bakery and snack bar serve pizza daily and burgers on weekends, and you are welcome to bring your own lunch and a cooler. The Market Barn sells baked goods and local gifts year-round.
