About Municipal Brew Works
Municipal Brew Works brews its own beer in Hamilton and pours it at a taproom in the historic Fredrick Mueller building on High Street downtown. Up to 20 house-made beers and seltzers are on tap at a time. The Approachable Blonde is the flagship, the Midnight Cut Porter covers the darker side, and a gluten-free house seltzer comes with a rotating choice of flavors.
The High Street taproom is open seven days a week, from mid-afternoon on weekdays and from noon on weekends, so it works for a late lunch or an early evening stop in any season. When the weather cooperates, most people head for the large patio, which hosts live music and the brewery's anniversary parties.
There is no kitchen of its own. Food trucks rotate through on a regular schedule, recently including barbecue, burger and grill trucks, and you can also order in from nearby restaurants. The brewery describes the taproom as dog and family friendly. A second taproom operates inside the Spooky Nook Sports complex on North B Street, and that space can be rented for parties and meetings.
White Barn & Blooms Lavender Farm is in Ross Township, about 15 minutes southwest of downtown. The farm grows more than 20,000 lavender plants and holds a festival in July, so a summer outing can start in the lavender rows and end on the patio in town.
