About Burwinkel Farms

Burwinkel Farms is a family farm in Southwest Ohio that has been working the same ground since 1918. The main farm on Hamilton Cleves Road in Ross is run by the third generation, with the fourth already pitching in. The family is best known around Cincinnati for its sweet corn, which also goes out each day to a string of roadside stands around the region run by relatives and longtime friends.

The Ross farm stand opens daily, and in fall the farm becomes a destination of its own. In 2026 fall activities run every day from September 26 through October 31. Visitors choose between a hayride ticket, which rides out to the pumpkin patch and back, or a cheaper walking ticket, a one-mile round trip through the sunflower fields. Either way you go home with a small pumpkin and a sunflower. The sunflowers bloom from late September until the first hard cold snap in October.

Once you are out in the fields there is plenty for kids: two corn mazes, a skid maze with punch stations, a scarecrow search, a Halloween scavenger hunt, duck races, a corn pool, and a donkey and goats to visit. Weekday hayrides are set aside for pre-scheduled school and group visits, and the season opens with a ticketed Sips in Sunflowers weekend event.

White Barn & Blooms Lavender Farm is also in the Hamilton area, only a few minutes from the Ross farm, which makes these two of the easiest stops in this guide to combine.
