About Shaw Farms

Shaw Farms sits on State Route 131 on the eastern edge of the Cincinnati area in Milford. The Shaws trace their roots in Clermont County to 1807, when Thomas and Martha Shaw arrived from Pennsylvania. The modern market grew out of a 1952 sweet corn run to a Cincinnati farmers market, when passersby kept buying corn straight off the truck. Today Jerry and Jean Shaw, their sons Mike and Jeff, and daughter-in-law Pam run the farm, with a younger generation coming up behind them.

The market opens in early July (July 1 in 2026). July through September is produce season, and the family is best known for its sweet corn and vine-ripened tomatoes, along with peppers and melons. In October the farm turns into Shaw's Pumpkin Times, with a pick-your-own patch of jack-o'-lantern and pie pumpkins, fall apples and a large corn maze.

Entry to the farm is free, and the two play areas and animal viewing areas cost nothing to use. Individual attractions carry their own fees: the corn maze, tractor-drawn and horse-drawn hayrides, pedal karts for ages 7 and up, and the Little Blue Train. The corn maze includes a treasure hunt for kids. The Shed gift shop, a barn the family has expanded several times since 1987, carries fall decor, gifts, produce, and meats and cheeses from local Amish makers. The farm also books group events.

To add lavender, Sunshine Acres Lavender Farm near Morrow is roughly 13 miles to the northeast, about 25 minutes by back roads.
