About Cairnie Fruit Farm

Cairnie Fruit Farm, near Cupar in north Fife, is a family farm that has welcomed pickers for generations. Its fields grow strawberries (Ava, Magnum and Allure, some on raised table-tops), Glen Fyne raspberries, cherries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, Invictus gooseberries and sunflowers, and its pick-your-own pumpkin patch is now in its 27th year.

Strawberries are usually picked from May into September, with raspberries, cherries, currants and gooseberries in July and sunflowers in August. Passes are booked online (2026: £2 for pick-your-own entry), the kiosk hands out punnets, and fruit is paid for by weight. The six-acre maize maze opens in mid-July and runs through October. In October the pumpkin patch opens with more than 20,000 pre-cut pumpkins; in 2026 it ran from 7 October, Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4:30pm plus four half-term weekdays, with a £1.50 pass and pumpkins paid for by size.

The Kids Funyard play area is open March to October, and the large indoor and outdoor café serves home baking and hot food all day, with a farm shop selling ready-picked fruit. The Halloween Torchlight Maze (29–31 October 2026, ages 8 and up) sells out early. Dogs on leads are welcome around the farm and have their own play areas, but they aren't allowed in the picking fields, pumpkin patch or maze. Groups of 20 or more book by email.

Scottish Lavender Oils near Kinross is roughly 35 minutes southwest, so a summer day can pair strawberry or cherry picking with a visit to the lavender.
