About Lothian Lavender
Lothian Lavender grows lavender on a family farm outside Gifford, in the East Lothian countryside southeast of Edinburgh, and has been growing in Scotland since 2010. The lavender is grown naturally, harvested and distilled on site, and the oil goes only into the company's own skincare range, alongside candles and dried lavender gifts.
The garden is not open every day. It opens on advertised weekend open days during the flowering season, announced on their social pages, and no booking is needed for those. Entry is by donation at the gate, and the money goes to a local charity. Open days give a behind-the-scenes look at how the lavender is grown, harvested and distilled, and products are sold in the garden. Groups who want to visit outside open days can arrange it by email during the flowering season.
Facilities are simple: parking is free, but there are no public toilets, and the farm points visitors to the cafés in Gifford village. There is no bus stop nearby, so you will need a car. Dogs on a lead are welcome.
Carfrae Farm Shop, also near Gifford, is about 10 minutes away by car.
