About Farm Shop at The Mart
Farm Shop at The Mart sits on the East Linton Sales Ground, the livestock market site on Station Road, and has been part of the village for more than 35 years. It started as a traditional farm shop and over the last decade has grown into a large independent food store carrying more than 8,500 lines, from everyday groceries to local and artisan produce.
Inside you'll find a deli counter, a fresh food counter and bread baked every day, along with beef raised and butchered in East Lothian. The shelves lean toward variety: a strong East Asian section, teas, coffees and dates, plus Scottish whisky, spirits, wine and beer. Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, halal and kosher products are spread through the store rather than kept on one shelf, and the team makes up gift hampers to order.
A small café with 14 seats serves hot food, rolls, paninis, baking and hot drinks from 9am to 4pm, which makes it a handy breakfast or lunch stop. The shop is open 9am to 5pm every day except Christmas Day and New Year's Day, and there is parking on site. Its phone line takes messages only, so email is the best way to arrange larger or special orders.
