About Cleveland-Heath
Cleveland-Heath takes its name from its founders, Jennifer Cleveland and Eric Heath, chefs who met in Salt Lake City and trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley. Cleveland, who grew up in nearby Bethalto, worked in the kitchen and dining room of two of Thomas Keller's California restaurants before the pair came to Edwardsville and opened in the former Fond space on North Main Street. The L-shaped room has a copper-topped bar and two connected dining rooms.
The kitchen cooks gourmet comfort food with a Midwestern base and California touches. Dishes the restaurant has been known for include Japanese pancakes, pork belly, a Berkshire pork porterhouse, a house burger, BLTs and seared duck.
The bar mixes classic cocktails with fresh ingredients and keeps a long, changing Scotch and bourbon list, rotating local and regional craft beers and a wide wine list with reds, whites and sparkling wines by the glass. On Saturday the doors open at 10 a.m., and the restaurant points to brunch on its patio. Dogs are welcome on the patio, and the restaurant even sells $7 dog meals.
Tenderloin Farms Lavender, a family farm where visitors pick lavender and wildflowers in June, is about 15 minutes north, so lunch or an early dinner here rounds out a lavender morning.
