About Rinkel Pumpkin Farm

Rinkel Pumpkin Farm is a small family pumpkin farm on Old Troy Road in Glen Carbon, open on fall weekends. You walk out into the patch and choose pumpkins off the vine, or buy from a pre-picked selection near the entrance. Pumpkins run from $1 to $40 by size, and an average carving pumpkin is $5 to $8. The farm also sells gourds, squash, corn stalks, straw and Indian corn for porch decorating.

In 2026 pumpkin season ran September 12 to October 25, Fridays 3 to 6 p.m. and weekends 10 to 5, weather permitting. The farm starts the year earlier with a Zinnia Fest in mid-August, held August 15 and 16 in 2026.

Admission covers a long list of farm play: a corn maze, a straw maze, a corn pit, a slide tower and tractor slide, duck races, basketball games and picture boards. The petting zoo lets children feed the animals, and a barrel train ride costs $2 extra. Wagons are on hand to haul pumpkins, though the farm asks that kids ride in your own wagon or stroller instead. Guided field trips are not offered.

Tenderloin Farms Lavender, on the north side of Edwardsville, is about 20 minutes away; its lavender and wildflower picking is in June, so it pairs with a summer visit for the zinnias rather than pumpkin season.
