About Clover Hill Wines

Clover Hill was founded in 1986 at Lebrina, in the Pipers River district of northeast Tasmania, and released its first wine, a Blanc de Blanc, in 1991. It makes only sparkling wine, using the traditional method and blending across vintages. The 66-hectare property is planted solely to the three classic sparkling grapes: about 16.5 hectares of Chardonnay, 8 of Pinot Noir and less than one of Pinot Meunier. The vines grow in a sheltered, north-facing amphitheater of red volcanic soil scattered with basalt, between 185 and 272 meters up, looking out toward Bass Strait.

The cellar door is open Wednesday to Sunday, and reservations are essential. A guided tasting is the simplest option. For more time, choose a vineyard tour and masterclass, a Pinot Noir tasting, a museum tasting of older releases, or a guided sparkling tasting with a multi-course meal. In winter (June to August), a vine-pruning masterclass takes you out into the rows.

Clover's Kitchen serves a small-plates menu by chef Tanya White to go with the wines. Its Rosé d'Assemblage won Best Non-Vintage Sparkling Wine at the 2026 Tasmanian Wine Show. Watch their events page for special dinners and gatherings.

Bridestowe Estate's lavender fields at Nabowla are about 15 minutes away, which makes the two an easy pairing on a northeast Tasmania day trip.
