About Pipers Brook Vineyard
Pipers Brook has been growing wine in Tasmania's northeast for 50 years. The vines grow on rich volcanic soils not far from Bass Strait. Today it's part of Kreglinger Wine Estates, which makes Pipers Brook and Pipers Tasmania still wines, Ninth Island, and Kreglinger traditional-method sparkling. Tamar Valley Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah are among the wines poured.
The cellar door sits inside Nadines at Pipers, a working winery café surrounded by vines and native bush. It's open every day from 11am to 4pm. Tastings are self-guided, so you can work through the range at your own pace, buy bottles and stay for something to eat.
The café's menu changes with the seasons and uses Tasmanian produce, served alongside seated tastings. In the warmer months, from about November to March, bring a picnic rug and settle on the grass among the vines. Bookings and walk-ins are both welcome for tastings, bottle sales and meals.
Bridestowe Estate's lavender fields at Nabowla are about 20 minutes away, and the Jansz Wine Room is right next door, so a tasting here fits easily into a northeast Tasmania lavender day.
