About The Culver Cottage
The Culver Cottage is a small inn on South Main Street in downtown Culver, set in a 1906 Queen Anne Victorian that keeps much of its original detail. Guest rooms are spread over two floors and are each decorated differently, with antique furnishings, mahogany woodwork, dormer nooks and cathedral ceilings. Every room has a private bath, free Wi-Fi and its own climate control, and guests share a large private outdoor terrace. It has operated as registered lodging since 2017.
The location is the draw for a lake weekend. The Lake Maxinkuckee beachfront and the Culver Academies campus are both within a mile, and downtown shops and restaurants are a short walk. Summer is the busy lake season, while fall brings quieter streets and color along the shore. Academy weekends fill up fast: parents' weekend, reunion and homecoming, and graduation stays must be paid in full 60 days ahead and cannot be refunded.
The inn is aimed at adults and older kids. Children 10 and up are welcome, but infants are not, and pets are not allowed anywhere on the property. Check-in runs from 4 to 6 p.m., checkout is by 11 a.m., and the whole property is smoke-free. You can call or text the inn at (574) 842-2746 with questions.
