About Hoshyla Farms
Hoshyla Farms is a fifth-generation family farm in Manorville, the Long Island town that calls itself the gateway to the Hamptons. The family's farming roots go back to 1922; Dimytri and Anna Hoshyla grew vegetables in East Meadow for more than 30 years before moving to Manorville in 1954, where the family name became known for potatoes and cauliflower. In recent years the family added lavender to the farm, growing Provence and Munstead.
The farm's website lists events rather than daily open hours, so plan a visit around one of them. The main draw is the Lavender Festival in late June. For 2026 it ran June 27 and 28 with blooming fields for u-pick and photos, artisan vendors, food trucks, live music, and yoga sessions in the field on Sunday morning. Admission was $5, children under 10 were free, and Manorville residents and active military got in free with ID. Parking is free on site, and only service animals are allowed.
Through the rest of the year the farm runs a mix of gatherings listed on their website, including a Country Night, wellness days, a Halloween Hoedown and an art and oyster evening, plus workshops and classes. Dried lavender bouquets and culinary lavender are sold through their online shop, and the farm also supports the Long Island Potato Festival farmers market.
Tate's Bake Shop in East Moriches is about 10 minutes south, an easy stop for cookies on the way to or from the festival.
