About Blue Point Brewing Company
Blue Point Brewing Company got its start in a Patchogue boatyard in 1998 and has grown into one of Long Island's best-known breweries. The brewpub on West Main Street is attached to the working brewery, so the beer on tap comes from a few steps away: the classic lineup, seasonal releases, beer cocktails and small-batch beers from the brewery's innovation room that are only poured here.
The kitchen leans on the bay. Freshly shucked oysters from the Great South Bay share the menu with the brewery's take on classic bar food, vegan and vegetarian dishes, and monthly specials built around what is on tap. Every Wednesday a new pub-only beer is released from the innovation room, and local musicians play every week. Brewery tours are not offered at this time, so the brewpub and beer garden are the way to visit.
The brewpub calls itself dog and family friendly, and the outdoor beer garden is a favorite spot for visitors with dogs. Hours are Tuesday through Thursday 3 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday noon to 8 p.m.; it is closed Mondays, and seasonal and holiday hours can change. You can also order beer for pickup at the pub.
Hoshyla Farms in Manorville, a fifth-generation family farm that grows lavender and hosts a lavender festival, is about 20 minutes east. A summer afternoon at the farm pairs naturally with an early dinner of bay oysters in Patchogue on the way back west.
