About Silverman's Farm

Silverman's Farm on Sport Hill Road in Easton began in the early 1920s, when Ben Silverman started a cider mill there. His son Irv now runs the farm with his wife Nancy, with children and grandchildren helping at harvest. Ben pressed cider for more than 60 years, and the retired mill is on display in the market.

Today the farm is a large apple and peach orchard. Apple picking starts around mid-August with Ginger Gold, moves through McIntosh, Cortland, Macoun and Honeycrisp in September and Jonagold, Northern Spy and Cameo in October, and ends with Fuji and Pink Lady in early November. Peaches and blueberries are picked in summer, and raspberries come and go, so call first. Picking runs 9 to 4 when fruit is ready, and you buy picking bags before entering the orchard.

The market and the animal farm, a petting farm of barnyard animals and fowl, are open every day 9 to 5, and the 2026 season runs through December 31. The market sells produce, dairy, jams and baked goods. Tractor rides, a pumpkin patch, holiday events, field trips and birthday parties round out the year.

Lavender Pond Farm in Killingworth is about an hour east along the shoreline, so pair the two on a long summer day.
