About Hunter Lavender Farm
Hunter Lavender Farm is a boutique lavender farm on Adams Peak Road at Broke, in the Hunter Valley about two and a half hours' drive from Sydney. It grows four kinds of lavender, from white to deep purple: English (Lavandula angustifolia), lavandin (Lavandula x intermedia), Spanish (Lavandula stoechas) and Riverina, an Australian hybrid, used for essential oil, dried flowers and display.
The farm opens to the public for a short summer window, about four weeks while the fields bloom. For its fifth season it is open daily from December 5, 2026 to January 3, 2027, closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Spanish lavender flowers earlier, in September and October, but the farm is not open then. During the season you can explore the fields, gardens and farm at your own pace, or book one of the experiences: a lavender field walk, beekeeping for beginners, yoga among the blooms or a short photo session.
Experiences have limited places and need booking; walk-ins are only possible at set times or after cancellations. The farm shop stocks lavender sleep products, bath and body items, gourmet foods, home fragrance and gift sets, and in season there is lavender gelato. Dogs are not allowed because of the farm animals. Drones, tripods and large camera rigs are not permitted.
Margan Wines and Restaurant is also in Broke, about 10 minutes away, for lunch after a morning in the fields.
